Quite a few club members attended Spire Toy today to support one of the clubs youngest club judges. Mr Ryan Ross had a very credible entry of 16 dogs. We were very pleased to witness Ryan's BOB go on to gain Group 4 and also his BPIB to win BPIS. Not bad at all for a first judging appointment. I am sure all our members would like to take this opportunity of wishing Ryan every success for the future. ... See MoreSee Less

Go for it ryan xx

Ryan Ross is such a talented young man. Unbelievable amount of knowledge. He will undoubtedly be one of the top judges in a few short years. Well done xx❤

We are lucky to have him.

What a cracking Entry and result Ryan Ross. Really sorry I couldn’t be there have been incredibly ill

Well done x

Nice one Ryan!

Congratulations Ryan, a great start to your judging career 😁

The prize this time for furthest travelled might just have to go to the Haffendedn family,

That's fantastic Ryan Ross well done xx

Just pleased that we now have a group of people who appreciate that the Club must encourage and mentor ALL our young people. Ryan is the trailblazer and has set such high standards for not only our juniors but our adults too. He is well mannered and respectful combined with an already in depth knowledge of this beautiful breed! Stewards weren't too bad either. 😚

It was a privilage to be part of this special day. Thank you Ryan.

Our club President, Mrs Audrey Ensor has telephoned me this afternoon. We had a bit longer to natter today. She again wanted me to reiterate her thanks to the committee for all their hard work and also the success of the Champioship Show. She asked me to thank the exhibitors and is very much looking forward to seeing you next year and also meeting our new members. I was able to bring her up to date with club activites. She is very much looking forwad to presenting the club awards at the April Show. ... See MoreSee Less

FYI. Christine Wilkinson lived her final years in a very nice care home, just over the Humber Bridge, set in spacious grounds, overlooking the river Humber. She did yearn to have one more ETT before she died. Her son approached me at Crufts ( he wasn't a dog exhibitor), and explained the situation, and would I sell them an ETT. I travelled from Cambridgeshire to Hull, with, I think Reeberrich Come Dancing ( who I had decided was too small and over refined, so culled her out of my breeding programme and had her spayed). I confess I was rather dubious about the whole idea, and went up only on the agreement that if I didn't feel happy about this, I would bring the bitch away. Mrs Wilkinson was not told in advance. When I arrived I was certainly bowled over by the quality of the home, the friendly atmosphere etc etc. The son looked at the bitch, as did the matron, and liked her. They agreed that when Mrs Wilkinson died that Come Dancing could either finish her days at the care home, or the Son and his wife would guarantee her a home. Having agreed all that, it was decided to introduce Cheeky ( Come Dancing) to Mrs Wilkinson. We did it by the son walking Mrs Wilkinson onto the Terrace to overlook the garden. I then came around the corner of the care home and Cheeky was following off lead and bounding about the lawn. Mrs Wilkinson shouted, ' Oh look! An English Toy Terrier! How beautiful', ( frankly I think if Cheeky had looked like a bag of spuds Mrs Wilkinson wouldn't have minded!). Long story short. Cheeky and Mrs Wilkinson lived a few years together at the care home, where in true ETT fashion Cheeky charmed all the residents. I got a Christmas card and update letter every year from Mrs Wilkinson until she died ( although eventually others had to write it for her) As per his promise the Son and Wife gave Cheeky a home for her final years too. I had quoted £250 purchase price, and as the Son got his wallet out I said, ' No. I don't want any money, not even for fuel, this is my gift'. It was an highly emotional day, and worth every mile of the journey to see the joy spread across Mrs Wilkinson's face.

Lovely gesture Johnny.

How wonderful. You must write a book JR.

Colimnbine __Colin Zariffy think that's how you spell it.The man with a chewed hat and a carpert bag always to be found sitting with Doggie Hubbard the old dog book stand to be seen around the shows in the 80s and 90s..

Could you do a spotlight on history piece gif the breed notes on Christine ? Johnny Richardson Thank you .
